This medicine is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, buccal cavity, skin, and soft tissues. However, it should be used only to treat infections that are proven or enough clinical evidence is present to ascertain the causative organism of the infection.
This medicine is used as a secondary line of treatment for toxoplasmosis in pregnant women. It also reduces the chances of transmission of the infection to the fetus. Specific circumstances of treatment with this medicine are determined clinically.
This medicine may also be used as an alternate choice of treatment for gonorrheal infections in patients who are allergic to penicillin class of antibiotics.

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to USAMYCIN 500mg Tablet 5x10s , any other antibiotic of the macrolide drug class, or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with bacterial meningitis due to its inefficiency of crossing the blood-brain barrier.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with toxoplasma encephalitis due to its inefficiency of crossing the blood-brain barrier.
